RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. Our bank/credit cards/passports have strips which can read our personal information with a RFID reader. Unfortunately, thieves have become more sophisticated using a device to "scan" our credit card information. They don't need to steal your purse they can be several meters away and get all your information. To prevent "electronic pickpocketing", there are RFID wallets for sale (but they don't look good) so another alternative would be getting RFID sleeves for your credit card or passport. There are knockoff's so be careful where you buy yours from. I hope that banks would supply us with these sleeves (after all it is added cost to them when they have to deal with fraudulent charges). For those of you at a loss of what to give this Christmas, I think this would make a great stocking stuffer!
Update (June 2013) If you want a RFID wallet, check my post on Secrid.
