Vitamix Blender
So I finally gave in. We had the Ninja Blender (this was my review about it) and while it has served its purpose the plastic seems to be wearing off. I saw a demo of the Vitamix (with a special price $400 with DVD and recipe book) at Costco and was amazed that it can make hot (yes, hot) soup as well. The top cover is also made with rubber (not plastic) which makes sense and seals everything well. This was a new model and it has settings for Smoothie, Soup and Frozen Dessert. Very happy with it and I guess I am also glad we didn't get it last year since this new model just came out.
Since we use the blender everyday I do not mind investing in this appliance because it keeps the family healthy. I have a friend who claims that she's had one for 10 years and never had to change the blade. I am also happy that it is made in the USA.
