I do not have Lockitron and I am tempted to get one since I have locked myself out of our home one too many times. Why is it we forget out keys and wallet but not our phones?
Lockitron submitted their project to Kickstarter but Kickstarter did not approve their project (they have started to become strict with projects that requires manufacturing), so they went on their own.
Basically, you put it on top of your deadbolt and you can now unlock your door using your smartphone from wherever you are. When you have visitors arriving and you are not home yet, you can open the door using your phone from wherever you are. Also can't remember if you locked your door? Lockitron now lets you check that remotely! (I need that for the garage door). Of course this means your wifi at home should be working for this to work.
My concern is security. Is it easy to hack or what if you lose your phone? Are you one of the 15k who ordered the Lockitron? Let me know how you like it.
This is a link to their site $179
