Which plastic water bottles to avoid

To summarize what we've been hearing so far.... avoid using water bottles with numbers 3, 6 and 7. 1 is for one time use only (most water bottles are 1, so don't refill the bottle). Ninja Blender 1100

I don't usually go for Infomercials. Our 5 year old Osterizer ($30 from Costco) has been an okay kitchen companion but doesn't really make "smooth" smoothies. They usually come out in clumps even after blending for a long period of time, losing the nutrients. I was looking at the Vitamix blender (but couldn't justify paying $400 for a blender). I saw the Ninja Blender at Costco for $118 (plus tax. Amazon sells it for $159 no tax). We just received our Costco rebate so thought of investing it for a healthy cause. Aside from mixing drinks, it comes with other attachments which makes it a good kitchen companion (food processing, dough mixing etc..). I am satisfied (not thrilled) with the blender. But this is only comparing it with the Osterizer. Be careful of the very sharp blades when removing from the pitcher! Pros: Quick and powerful. Cons: Plastic, be careful when removing the lid seems it can be fragile. Update: March 2013 We are still using the blender...

Secrid RFID Wallet

The Secrid Mini-Wallet holds 6 cards and some bills. The cards pop up (as shown) by pushing up a lever on the bottom of the card holder. I am not sure if the lever will break easily for men since they may be sitting on it on their back pocket. This is one of the nicer looking RFID wallet that I have seen in the market. It is designed and made in Holland and won the Red Dot Award (an international design competition). There are cheaper ones but their clasp breaks easily. I was able to purchase this during a trip to Europe so it was cheaper than buying it in the US. I like it so much I purchased 2. There are different versions, if you want just the credit card metal box, the mini-wallet (as shown), and they also have a double card holder but its too bulky.
